Thundering Heights Highlights January 30

FROM THE OFFICE

It is hard to believe that January is already coming to an end! This month has absolutely flown by. It has been an exciting few weeks getting ready for our Winter Wonderland and welcoming families in to celebrate with us. We are also thrilled that Intermediate Basketball intramurals, the Junior and Intermediate Games Club, Math Club, and the Bright Space Club have all officially begun!

Grade 8 Updates Our "Great 8s" will have their graduation photos taken on February 9th. Students were excited to see the Award Board added to the front foyer.

Drop-off & Pick-up Reminders Morning drop-off has been going very well! As a gentle reminder, school starts at 9:05 AM. For afternoon pick-up, we encourage families to consider coming a little after dismissal. Students are supervised out front, so if you arrive around 3:35 PM, you will find it much easier to pull into the pick-up lane to get your child(ren). Please continue to use the McLeod Rd Parking Lot only for pick-up and drop-off.

February Character Trait: Perseverance

Students will be learning about perseverance which means; trying again even when something is hard; not giving up when we make mistakes; keeping going when learning feels tricky. Another way to think about what it means is Perseverance is the promise you make to yourself to finish what you started, even if you make mistakes along the way. It’s learning to say, 'I can't do this... YET!' FAMILY CHALLENGE: Ask your child: "What is one thing that was hard for you to do today, but you did it anyway?" Celebrate that moment of perseverance!
